Baking Industry Meets in Solingen
Make a note of this date, November 8 and 9, 2011: Solingen will once again be the hub for the biscuits and snack industry. The organizing committee headed by Andreas Coppenrath (Coppenrath Feingebäck GmbH) will be presenting a highly attractive program for this year’s conference.
The agenda will be colorful, diverse and interesting and keep the participants fascinated throughout the two days spent in Solingen. Among many issues addressed, the focus will be largely on communicating with the end user. This includes lectures on “clean labels” from the legal aspect, with an eye to the consumer perceiving the differentiation between label and marketing terminology or the future organization of category management for dietetic products, once products for diabetics have been taken off the shelves for good.
A special session will be dedicated to the topic “fats”, which will amongst others be addressing the formation and reduction of 3MCPDs, the most recent developments in frying fats and palm oil and sustainability.
We will, of course, also speak about availability of raw materials and market developments and discuss this for cereals and sugar providing a lot of information. This is an issue which already now has a great impact on the pricing in the baking sector. However, we will also share the latest insights with regard to spices, starches and sugar substitutes in a special session.
Renate Röder from the production management of August Storck KG will present a case report on lean management, which will certainly be a highlight of the conference. Those who require more information on oven technology and control and packaging technology against the background provided by this year’s INTERPACK will be able to get it in Solingen.
