The ZDS, founded in 1951, is the world's most renowned education and training institute for all sectors of the confectionery industry. Every year, participants from more than 30 nations attend specialist conferences, seminars and internships on topics related to confectionery production. In addition, ZDS advises companies from a wide variety of countries and conducts company-specific training and test series for member companies.

As a non-profit association with the location in Solingen-Gräfrath, the ZDS has about 50 employees of the public and non-public service. Modernly equipped buildings, an in-house refectory catering to students and participants from all over the world as well as ZDS staff, as well as an open-minded and motivated team, provide the basis for an optimal working and learning environment.
